So I'm pretty much finished with my tank, I spent a few hours detailing it and I have to say after painting this I have no love for painting tanks at all. I'm not entirely happy with it but it's table ready. In a week or so I might go back and fix all the little stray bits of paint I missed this time around. Although I did have a little fun with wet blending on the little blue windows.
I've decided I really enjoy wet blending and could spend way to much time noodling with the paint and getting nothing done.
So yeah exorcist 1 done now to finish the other two I have still in the boxes. Although the other ones are the more traditional exorcist tanks with the pipe organ so those might actually be fun to paint.
Nifty launcher, and I like the cherubim spotlight - at least I assume that's a spotlight. Is that a standard part or something you made?
ReplyDeleteI agree, I don't like painting tanks either, and probably won't until after I break down and get an airbrush.
Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteThe cherubim thingy is a loud hailer it comes on the SOB Immolator upgrade sprue.
air brush is a must with tanks, my boyfriend painted this sucker white for me with his air brush. I would have never finished it if he hadn't.
While I've done tanks in the past with an a/b, I've come to prefer the dirty look that comes with drybrushing with a large brush, myself (also, I hate having to clean out an a/b with every color change).
ReplyDeleteCherubim make my skin crawl, for some reason, but its a nice bit from a really useful sprue (I used the hell out of it for my own SoB tanks). Speaking of bits, I know I've said it before, but I love that freaking missile launcher....
Looks awesome as always!
ReplyDeleteUnsurprisingly fantastic, and even lovelier in person. Thanks for hosting this weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed. I'm curious why you went with the white hull and the grey launcher. The launcher seems dark and dirty while the vehicle itself is pristine.
ReplyDeletei know, i know, i actually wanted to dirty up the tank i just don't have the heart to do it.
ReplyDeletevery nice. First Exorcist model I've ever liked. Thanks for clueing me in to Quantum Gothic. Fantastic figures for a good price. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing that werewolf finished
