SoB Blue Squad 2009

Inspired by my Blue SoB squad from 1999 (Check it out here!) I decided to paint up a new blue squad with the same paint scheme.
Here is the Sister Superior that can double as a Canoness (i've always wanted one with a jump pack)
Also i should mention the bases are from Dragon Forge Designs http://www.dragonforge.com/ a fabulous small company that is worthy of support! Seriously go and buy some for yourself today! For those of you like me, who hate making your own bases this is the way to go.

Here is the whole squad and as always you can click on each image to see a larger version.

Now it's on to building that Penitent Engine!

  1. Holly cow... They are awesome. I could do without the anime hair, but other wise I think they're incredible. The blue really looks nice on the models.

Also the blue cloaks turned out awesome and have started to give me some ideas for my repainting plan.

Good Luck with the PEs those are some awesome models and should be really fun to paint.

  5. Thanks everyone!
Oni - it's funny people either really loved the hair or not at all. It was just something fun i started doing 10 years ago when i started playing. so i figured i would keep going with it.

Inquisitor M the bases really are worth it. They will save you a ton of time and frustration especially if you don't like making your own bases. It saved me from pulling my hair out.

Astro-Thumps i got the PE all cleaned up and halfway put together. My Boyfriend had to help me with it as the body section of it was pretty fubar'd and we had to do a lot of fancy back filling. But now it's all up on cork and ready to be primed. which will happen later today.

BTW: Where did you get that Superior/Canoness mini? I have seen it before but can't find it anywhere is it still in production?

  8. Astro I don't think that old Canoness mini is still in production, I've had mine for about 10 years now. I'm not sure when it went out of production.
i would say try to find one on ebay but I don't recall ever seeing one on ebay.

  10. Also how do you do the hair?

  11. nope haven't done the Redemtionists, and as for the hair it's a little hard to describe. it's not really dry brushing. but a light hand with wet paint and a flat brush.
